DOPE BMX EVENT

Teams Announced for Red Bull Down &
Dirty BMX Street comp
TEAMS ANNOUNCED FOR RED BULL DOWN & DIRTY
Top BMX Street Riders Gang Up For Jersey Battle
Santa Monica, CA – October 18, 2007 - The top names in BMX street will
gather in Asbury Park, New Jersey to battle on a course made for the
truly down and dirty. On November 4th, teams of BMXers from coast to
coast and across the pond will all descend upon the ruins of the Asbury
Park Casino – a relic of the dilapidated seaside town. What may be an
eyesore to some is the perfect spot for the street dogs to get gritty on
obstacles that will be brought in – including a 54 foot articulated New
York City bus with rails, an old taxi cab and quite fittingly, Jersey
barriers.
Athletes will compete in teams of four and hit the course in a jam
format. The riders will be scored individually, and the team whose
combined score of the four members is the highest will win the cash
prize. There will also be a Zoo York best trick prize, where locals and
the pros will go head to head on the obstacles to see who can land the
biggest banger. In partnership with Zoo York and Animal Bikes, there
will be over $10,000 in prize money handed out. This is the one casino
where you’re guaranteed to walk away with more in your pockets than you
started, as long as you show up and gamble.
Invited Teams*:
Team Animal: Nigel Sylvester, Mike Brennan, Tom White, Jared Washington
Team Zoo York: Edwin De La Rosa, Vinnie Sammon, Ruel “Wormz” Smith,
Tyrone Williams
Team Electronical: Aaron Ross, Jimmy Levan, Chase Hawk, Jim Cielinski
Team Knuckle Sandwich: Corey Martinez, Seth Kimbrough, Danny Hickerson,
Karl Poynter
Team UK: Bas Keep, Robin Felon, Dan Lacey, Bruce Crisman
Team Pirates: Van Homan, Chase Dehart, Dakota Roche, Mike Aitken
Additional riders include: Brian Wizmerski, Sean Burns, Garrett Byrnes,
Darryl Tocco, Ian Schwartz, Brad Simms, plus local riders.
* Subject to change. We also completely made up some of these team
names. Hope they don’t mind.
The event will begin at noon on Sunday, November 4th and is free to the
public.

Woman Turns In Bag Stuffed With $65,000
Woman Finds Plastic Bag Stuffed With $65,000, And Turns It In To Authorities
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., Oct. 5, 2007
(AP) A county garbage operations employee found a plastic bag on the road stuffed with $65,000 Thursday _ and immediately turned it in to authorities.
It turned out the money had fallen off a Loomis armored car half an hour before Debbie Cole found it near the Pinellas County solid waste operations facility where she works. First she thought it was a turtle in the road.
The 53-year-old Largo woman found the bag just before 7 a.m., full of enough $50 and $100 bills to pay her salary for two years. She immediately contacted a supervisor, who called deputies.
It's not clear how the bag fell from the truck, said Mark Clark, spokesman for Loomis, a Houston-based cash-handling company.
Cole's boss, Bob Hauser, said he can't give her a raise or a bonus for her good deed because she's a government employee. But maybe, he said, he can arrange some extra time off.
Cole, who grew up in Long Island, said she was raised to be honest. She said she raised her four daughters the same way.
Did she think for just a minute about keeping the money?
"Everyone keeps asking me that," Cole said. "To be honest, no. It didn't even cross my mind."
it didnt even cross your mind to keep 65k? this might be one of the dumbest motherfuckers in america.

10 rules of life
If you have a confrontation with the police - know your rights and know what you should or should not do to give them up. Just follow these 10 rules:
1. Don't Talk.
Do not say a word to the officer. Just shut up! I cannot stress to you the importance of this rule. Do not talk! Do not attempt to convince the officer of your innocence. Everyone is innocent, no one should be arrested and no one should be in jail and that is all the officer hears all day every day. He / she does not care generally whether you are innocent or guilty and there is nothing that he / she can do at this point. Most times, when people speak to officers they say something that makes their situation far worse. Keep your mouth shut, there will be plenty of time to talk later.
2. Don't Run.
I said above to listen to the officer and follow his / her instructions. Do not be scared and do not let the liquid courage, aka alcohol, convince you that you can outrun the twelve officers and helicopter that will track you down. Also, police become highly suspicious that someone running has a weapon and may be quick to draw their weapon. Additionally, when they do run you down expect much stronger force used to subdue a fleeing suspect.
3. Never Resist Arrest.
Perhaps the most important thing not to do is touch the police officer at all! Again, sober up quick and follow what the officer says. Many people attempt to bump the officer or swat an officers hands away. This often falls under the assault statutes and now a minor misdemeanor arrest becomes a FELONY. Thus a reckless driving charge leads to a year or more in state prison. Additionally, touching the officer in any way can lead to a baton in the mouth.
4. Don't Believe the Police.
It is perfectly legal for the police to lie to get you to make an admission. The police frequently separate two friends and tell one the other one ratted him / her out. Because of the lie, the other friend now rats the first friend out. Police and detectives also state that "it will be easier" to talk now...LIES!!! DON'T BELIEVE THIS BS! It will only be easier for the police to prove their case!
5. No Searching.
Do not allow the police to search anywhere! If the police officer asks, they do not have the right to search and must have your consent. If you are asked make sure you proclaim to any witnesses that "You (the police) do not have consent to search." If they perform the search anyway, that evidence may be thrown out later. Also, if you consent to a search, the officers may find something that you had no idea you had placed somewhere, ie: marijuana left by a friend. Remember, that denying the police consent to search DOES NOT give them the probable cause they would need to conduct a search.
6. Don't Look At Places Where You Don't Want Police to Search.
Police are trained to watch you and react to you. They know that you are nervous and scared and many people look to the areas that they don't want the police to search. Do not react to the search and do not answer any questions. LOOK DOWN AND KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT!!!
7. Do Not Talk Shit to the Police.
I don't care if you have been wrongly arrested and the true culprit is standing in front of you. Don't talk shit! Police hear all day that my dad is the the Governor's Assistant's Intern and I will have your badge for this! Police have a lot of discretion in the upcoming charges brought. Police can add charges, change a misdemeanor to a felony, or even talk to the prosecutor that is ultimately prosecuting you.
8. If Police Come to Your Home, Do not Let Them In and Do Not Step Outside Your Home.
If the police are confident you have committed a felony, they are coming in anyway, because they generally don't need an arrest warrant. Make it clear to the police by stating: "No you may not come in", or "I am comfortable talking right here", or "You need a search warrant to enter my home." If they return, your attorney can arrange for you to turn yourself in should that be necessary and you will spend no time in jail between the hearings.
9. Outside Your Home Arrested, Do Not Accept Offer to Go In Your Home for Anything.
The officer may say to you, how about you go inside and change, freshen up, talk to your wife, husband, get a jacket, or any other reason. The police will graciously escort you in and then tear your home apart searching through it. Also, do not let them secure your car. Your car is fine. Remember they are lying to you. They don't give a damn if you are really cold or if you need to talk to your wife or husband.
10. Don't say a word.
It's incredible how many people feel that they can convince the officer, the booking officer or a detective (if your case reaches that stature) that they are not guilty. YOUR CASE IS NOT DECIDED BY THESE PEOPLE. They have no affect on your records. Wait to speak to your lawyer! The courts give enormous weight to "confessions" during this stage. A suspect is almost NEVER released after being arrested.
Follow these ten simply rules religiously and many of your rights will remain intact. I don't care how nervous, scared or drunk you are, THESE RULES ARE VERY IMPORTANT, and will help you tremendously in the short and long run. And remember - we are not your lawyer!
Keep this in your wallet - OR - Memorize it.

Q & A with Jonathan Levine

BYN: how are you jonathan ?
I am well. I just got back from three weeks in Europe. I spent one week in Barcelona and two weeks in Berlin. Both are amazing art cities.
BYN: how was your summer ?
It was a little lame as I usually travel a few weeks in the summer, but I had to stay this year as we were doing renovations in my gallery. All the dust all over everything got annoying about the second week in of a six week renovation.
BYN: can you tell us about your self ?
I am short, bald and extremely handsome.

BYN: so how did you get ur self into all this ?
I started curating art shows at of bars in Northern NJ and NYC to show the art of my friends and other artists I liked. I discovered I really liked it and was good at it so I kept doing it.
BYN: did you go to school for what you do ?
I went to Montclair State college in Northern NJ and got a BA in Arts with a concentration in Sculpture. I also spent one year in a trade school learning graphic design.
BYN: can you tell us somthing not alot of people know about you ?
I have the "Trenton Makes World Takes Bridge" tattooed across my back. It is a famous Bridge in Trenton, NJ where I grew up.

BYN: can you tell us more ...
Hmm. Let's see. I had to take speech therapy classes for 5 years when I was a child because they said I had a lisp. I don't think I actually had one though. I used to Break Dance when I was in my teens. I play the drums and was in a number of punk rock bands. I sew very well. At worked at a hair salon from the time I was 13 to 16 years old. I can do a Leprachaun hop like the guy in the Lucky Charms cereal commercial.
BYN: do u have other interests ?
Many, many interests. I like film, music (particularly old school hip hop, punk rock and indie rock.) I like to explore old, abandoned and dangerous cities in NJ. I collect Fez's.
BYN: can you tell us a crazy story ...
Ahhh. I have so many.
BYN: can you tell us a secreat ?
It wouldn't be a secret if I told you.

BYN : how about anther secreat ?
You spelled Secret wrong.
BYN: do you do art ?
Not anymore. I think I will start again when I retire and am in my 70's or 80's. That is when my art career will begin.
BYN: are you republican or democrate
I lean mostly towards the Democrates of course but I wouldn't classify myself either way.
BYN: who are you going to vote for ??
Hillary provided she is nominated.
BYN: whose exibit was the most successful ?
Shepard Fairey's most recently.
BYN: whose exibit was the most interesting ?
The group show I did with 8 Brazilian artists called Ruas de Sao Paulo.
BYn: how do you choose the artist ? do they have to ask you for project or you offer them the space ?
I always offer them the space. It is a very long answer to this but basically I have to like the work and think I can sell it.
BYN: who is your favorite artist ?
I don't have one in particular, but the ones that influenced me early on are Calder, Dali, Warhol, Oldenburg, Red Grooms, and Keith Harring.
BYN: whats next for jonathan levin gallery ?
More shows. Maybe a gallery in London. Some curated shows in Brazil and London.
BYN:what you think of the up comeing artists generation ?
They seem to be having more fun their predecessors.
BYN: can you tell us the secreat behind why the ladies just love you?
I have a dazzling smile, nice skin, a bubbling personality and I smell good.

BYN: graffiti or street art ?
That's a loaded question I don't think I should answer.
BYN: what you think of street art ?
I like some of it. I think a lot of it is unoriginal, but it's got a lot of energy and momentum at the moment which I am enjoying.
BYN: do you write graffiti ?
Only in public bathrooms.
BYN: what you think of laws on graaffiti ?
Hmmm. I'm not sure. I don't want those damn kids painting on my property though.
BYN: are you sure you dont graffiti ?
I told you I do sometimes.

BYN: ever though about selling drugs ?
Of course. I think I would be great at it, but it's illegal. Oh well.
BYN: david choe is ..... CRAZY and unpredictable but I love him.

BYN: Vitche Equilibrium is ..... A bit of a mystery to me but has a great personality and energy about him.
BYN: aj fosik is .... A wild and crazy guy who likes to party and one of my favorite artists that I work with.
BYN : broke ya neck is ... Who the hell is this?
BYN: nyc is ... Over crowded.

BYN: whats your fav thing to eat ?
Meatballs and spagetti.
BYN : where is your fav place to be ?
In bed with a hot naked woman.
BYN: how come you sell art not drugs ?
I told you because it's illegal and I am a pussy.

BYN:whats your fav movie ?

BYN: whats your fav tool ?
The wrench.
BYN: patterns or colors ??

BYN:woood paintings or canves
I don't care just as long at the painting is good.
